SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and professional transportation of LGH Winches equipment, including road-towable trailer-mounted winches and associated cable-hauling equipment.
Assists in providing great levels of customer service and the delivery of key departmental KPI’s by providing driver duties in a safe, compliant, courteous manner across the LGH Group and its clients.
OVERVIEW OF ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform various tasks related to yard operations, including but not limited to:
- Driving LGH Winches vehicles and towing trailers up to 3.5 tonnes.
- Delivering and collecting equipment from customer sites throughout the UK.
- Carrying out pre-use and daily vehicle/trailer checks.
- Ensuring loads and trailers are correctly secured before departure.
- Completing delivery, collection and equipment documentation accurately.
- Carrying out basic checks on trailers, including tyres, lights, coupling and braking systems.
- Ensuring equipment is transported safely and responsibly.
- Liaising professionally with customers and site personnel.
- Assisting with loading and unloading equipment where required.
- Reporting any vehicle, trailer or equipment defects immediately.
- Maintaining vehicles and equipment in a clean, safe and presentable condition.
- Complying with all relevant road transport, health & safety and company procedures.
- Representing LGH Winches professionally at customer locations.

Enhance the customer experience of dealing with LGH by enthusiastically engaging and interacting with our customers at all levels when collecting and delivering equipment.
To show flexibility to meet the demands of the customer when delivering and collecting equipment on time in full.
Maintain exceptional standards of work through understanding and following company quality, safety, health and environmental policies and procedures and training; Ensuring vehicle is clean, roadworthy, and fully compliant at all times; UK specific: awareness and compliance to FORS (Freight Operator Recognition Scheme) at all times.
Puts safety first by complying with safe systems of work, reporting near misses to the Workshop/Transport Manager; Operate vehicle(s) safely and lawfully; ensuring loads are safe and correctly supported/retrained; UK specific: ensuring no time lost incidence (UK RIDDOR) within the team.
Collaborates with other parts of the organisation by supporting effective communication within the team to the wider organisation to ensure all customer requirements are fulfilled on time.
In the event that there are no driving requirements, willfully assist Workshop colleagues with any other duties commensurate with the capabilities/training to hand.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Full UK Driving License (current & clean – no previous Drink Driving bans acceptable due to insurance requirements)
- Able and willing to travel as and when required – (Early starts/late finishes)
- Able to pass the 6 monthly eye tests
- Able to provide a signed annual self-health/fit to work assessment
- UK specific: Conduct FORS on-line training and pass all relevant courses to enable compliant driving to FORS Silver standard (London Only)
- Experience using tachographs, including knowledge of drivers' hours and required records.
Desirable
- Proven track record with driving environment.
- Conversant with Geography and road network within working area.
- Aware of product weights and good understanding of Manual Handling and load awareness.
- A positive and determined ‘can do’ attitude which will ensure our business responds to our customers’ needs.
- Self-motivated with capability of working independently.
- Ability to prioritise effectively under pressure.
- Able to diversify job roles in order to assist others in the team.
