Applicants must have previous HGV driving experience, ideally within the waste industry, although candidates from other relevant sectors will also be considered. An IOSH Managing Safely qualification and CPC in Road Haulage are desirable but not essential.
About The Role
Location: SRF Malpass Farm, Malpass Farm, 256 Parkfield Rd, Rugby CV21 1AT
Salary: £39,086.40 per annum
Working: 45 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
Start times: 5:00am - Overtime is regularly available and paid at an enhanced hourly rate.
In addition to the basic salary, the successful candidate will receive a Driver Supervisor allowance.

Excellent computer and IT skills are essential, as the role requires effective use of operational systems and accurate record keeping.
What Will I Be Doing?
- Managing the Drivers pre-shift and at the start of the shift to ensure they commence their rounds safely and promptly whilst resolving any issues until normal office hours commence.
- Managing and investigating vehicle / personal incidents and any road traffic accidents.
- Investigating and resolving near miss / hazard reports.
- Weekly vehicle inspections / gate checks.
- Responsible for ensuring the downloading of VU and Drivers’ tacho cards and reviewing infringement reports with Drivers.
- Ensuring vehicles are presented for service on time and inspections (inc. LOLER) are completed as per company standards.
- Responsible for driver inductions and training, as well as delivering toolbox talks.
- Complete yearly driving and pre-employment driving assessments.
- Occasional cover for Driver sickness / absence as required (LGV licence is therefore essential).
What Are the Requirements?
- LGV (CAT C) Licence and Driver CPC Card.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Valid First Aid Certificate (training can be provided for the successful candidate).
- IOSH qualification (training can be provided for the successful candidate).
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including basic PC skills – Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
