Here at GXO, we’re working together with B&Q and are looking for a Drivers Mate to join our Store to Home team in Bristol (BS37 5QR).

You’ll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, Tuesday to Saturday, with a start time at 06:00. The role is contracted to 48 hours per week.

As a Drivers Mate, you’ll receive:

  • An hourly rate of £12.71, that is an annual salary of £31,724.16

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Work as a part of two-person team delivering products to customer premises (room of choice)
  • Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading of vehicles as and when required
  • Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition
  • Ensure that customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Experience of dealing with multi drop home delivery preferred but not essential
  • Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting and pushing
  • Can do attitude with a knack for problem solving
  • Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check)
  • Be prepared to commute to Bristol (BS37 5QR) for the required shift pattern
