Company Description

Aceway Driving School is a professional driving school led by a Diamond Examiner and ORDIT-approved Driving Instructor Trainer. Based in the Birmingham area, the school provides both manual and automatic driving lessons, as well as instructor training for new and aspiring driving professionals. Aceway Driving School is committed to delivering high-quality, structured training that prioritizes road safety and learner confidence. The school focuses on creating a supportive learning environment for a diverse range of learners, helping them develop safe, responsible driving habits.

Role Description

The Driving Instructor role at Aceway Driving School is a full-time, on-site position based in the West Midlands. The instructor will provide one-to-one practical driving lessons in manual and/or automatic vehicles, following DVSA guidelines and Aceway teaching standards. Daily tasks include:

  • Preparing learners for theory and practical tests

The role also involves:

  • Maintaining accurate records of lessons
  • Communicating professionally with learners and guardians
  • Promoting a safety-first culture on the road

Instructors may also support training for new driving instructors and contribute to continuous improvement of teaching methods.

Qualifications

  • Candidates could have strong skills in Driving Instruction and Driver Training already, with experience delivering structured lessons to learners at different levels as an ADI, or we can train you from beginner level until you become a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor and gain a position with us.
  • Candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm, patient, and professional under pressure.
  • Candidates should possess current DVSA-approved driving instructor status (or be in the process of qualifying PDI), a clean and valid UK driving license, and a strong record of safe driving.
  • Candidates should possess strong organizational and time-management abilities, including reliable scheduling, punctuality, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Experience working with diverse learners and an inclusive, non-discriminatory approach to instruction is highly beneficial.
  • Basic IT skills for managing bookings and learner records and familiarity with Birmingham/West Midlands routes and traffic patterns are advantageous.
