Description
We have an exciting opportunity as Driving Quality Assessor working within our Learning and Development Team. The successful applicant will be based at our Training School with a requirement to work from all our sites.
The Driving Quality Assessor conducts in-service driving assessments, across all shifts and Transport UK Group locations, in line with industry standards to improve bus drivers’ performance. They submit daily reports in Tracerit and work with depot management to improve driving standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete at least eight checks each working day.
- Make an informed judgement based on the evidence observed of the driver’s competence against the DQM assessment criteria.
- Submit a clear Tracerit report for each driving assessment.
- Represent Transport UK London Bus as an ambassador, acting in line with company values and promoting ‘The 3 “Sees”’.
- Prepare monthly reports summarising completed assessments and outcomes by depot.
- Plan and organise work effectively to make the best use of available time.
- Report all Box 4 assessments or serious driving concerns to Central Duty Managers and secure the vehicle if needed.
- Handle the sensitive data with GDPR regulation.
- Use of the company equipment to submit the assessments.
- Any other duties commensurate with the role.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- You have excellent knowledge about vehicle checks.
- Must hold a PCV licence for a minimum of 3 years.
- A clean record for driving standards – i.e. no avoidable collisions, poor driving assessments or complaints about driving for 2 full years.
- Good standard of computer literacy.
- Must have a flexible approach and be prepared to work on a shift pattern (including nights and weekends) and across all TUK depot locations.
- Ability to keep a good attendance and excellent timekeeping skills.
