Job Introduction
Salary: £41267.45 per annum, plus £4775 London Allowance
Contract Type: 12 Month FTC
Location: Force Headquarters - London
Type of Working Arrangement: Blended approach of home and office-working is available
Hours: This is a full-time role (37 hours per week)

The Opportunity
British Transport Police have an opportunity for a Drone Insight and Benefit Analyst to provide analytical and research expertise for the Drones Development Programme. The role involves preparing and managing the delivery of high-quality products and research relating to the use of new and innovative drone technology. The successful applicant will need to clearly articulate the economic benefits delivered by the new technology, to support decision making on drone deployment at both local and senior level.
As well as being able to provide advanced and innovative analytical techniques, this is a role for someone who gets excited by the bigger picture. Someone who has the drive to be hands on, visiting locations to learn about the environment we operate in and get a deeper understanding of the insights behind the data. Also, as our work is all about innovation, we are looking for someone to take that gained knowledge and be comfortable challenging the status quo, to find improvements in the way we work.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing dedicated analytical support to the Drones Development Programme through research and analysis that informs operational improvements and service delivery.
- Occasionally travelling around the UK to visit various sites, getting a real-life insight to what the data means and what’s behind the numbers.
- Producing high-quality reports and presentations to provide insight and recommendations for senior decision-makers.
- Working collaboratively with our National Rail partners to enhance the joint operations developing the work on drones.
- Conducting benefits cost analysis, horizon scanning and performance monitoring to support future drone capability, policy and strategy development.

What You'll Bring To The Team
- Experience of analysing complex datasets, producing research and insight, and communicating findings through written reports, presentations and verbal briefings.
- Proven analytical and benefits modelling experience, including econometric modelling and the use of data analysis tools and Microsoft applications.
- Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously and be prepared to get out in the field.
- A degree in a relevant discipline, preferably with an analytical, economic or statistics component, together with relevant work experience.
