Stradbroke High School is looking for a DT and Art Technician.

Stradbroke High School seeks to appoint a motivated Art, DT and Food Technician to join our flourishing departments to support and maintain the art room, kiln, food room, workshop equipment and consumables. You will possess sound knowledge and experience in an art or design work environment.

The professional competencies expected of a technician and first aider are:

  • ability to solve straightforward problems
  • exchange information with pupils, teachers and other technicians
  • uses hand/eye co-ordination and dexterity in the preparation of materials or use of equipment
  • works from instructions but makes minor decisions involving the use of initiative. Problems are referred to a line manager. Little close supervision is necessary beyond that provided by working arrangements and methods
  • responsible for careful use of expensive equipment
  • prepare equipment and resources as required
  • may keep basic financial records
  • provide first aid for students as part of a rota.
