Technical Data Business Analyst - Delegated Authority
Rate: £650-£750 per day
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Contract Type: Initial contract with potential to extend
We are looking for experienced Technical Data Business Analysts to support two major data migration and re-platforming programmes within the insurance sector.
One role will support the migration of legacy Delegated Authority systems to VIPR, while the other will sit within a Portfolio Solutions re-platforming programme. Both roles have a strong focus on data migration, requirements gathering, reporting and data validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse and document detailed data and reporting requirements
- Refine existing high-level use cases into clear technical requirements
- Support the migration of data from legacy platforms to VIPR
- Work with technology teams responsible for ingesting VIPR data into the organisation's data analytics platform
- Define the data requirements needed to build reports and support business use cases
- Validate and reconcile migrated data to ensure its accuracy and completeness
- Identify and resolve data-quality or migration issues
- Maintain existing data exports to third-party vendors
- Use SQL and Python to interrogate, validate and manipulate data where required
- Work closely with business, data, technology and vendor stakeholders
- Provide a structured handover from the incumbent Data Business Analysts

Required Experience
- Strong experience as a Technical Data Business Analyst
- Previous involvement in complex data migration or re-platforming programmes
- Excellent requirements-gathering and documentation skills
- Experience refining high-level business needs into detailed technical and reporting requirements
- Strong understanding of data analytics and reporting environments
- Experience validating and reconciling migrated data
- Working knowledge of SQL and Python
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills

Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of Delegated Authority insurance
- Previous experience working with VIPR
- Experience supporting third-party or vendor data feeds
- Experience within the London or specialty insurance market
These roles require someone who can work confidently across business and technical teams, challenge requirements where necessary and communicate complex data issues clearly to a broad range of stakeholders.
