Durability Analysis Engineer

At Aston Martin, durability is about more than completing a test programme. It is about understanding how every system and component will perform over time, turning complex vehicle data into meaningful insight and helping create cars that deliver the performance, quality and reliability our customers expect.

We are looking for a Durability Analysis Engineer to join our Durability and Reliability team. This is an opportunity to work across vehicle, system and component level, using analysis and simulation to shape durability requirements and support the development of our high-performance vehicles.

You will help define, calculate and continually improve durability and reliability duty cycles. Your work will cover full vehicle testing, system and component test profiles, load spectra and rig-test drive files, ensuring our test conditions reflect how vehicles perform in the real world.

Working closely with our Lead Attribute Engineers, Test Engineers and wider engineering teams, you will run simulations, generate vehicle and chassis load cases, analyse customer and test data, and support the investigation of durability concerns. Your analysis will help teams identify root causes, define effective solutions and validate permanent corrective actions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will also support the development and validation of data-acquisition methods, including strain gauges and displacement transducers. Through clear, evidence-based recommendations, you will help balance durability requirements with wider programme, timing and cost considerations.

You will bring a good understanding of automotive systems, supported by strong analytical capability and practical experience of statistical, reliability and durability analysis techniques. Experience generating load decks and chassis load cases, setting up and running simulations, and working with MATLAB, Python or another programming language will be important.

Experience with tools such as nCode or CANape, automotive data-acquisition systems, diagnostic tools or Six Sigma methodologies would be valuable, but these are not essential.

You will be organised and methodical, with close attention to detail and the confidence to explain complex technical information clearly. You should be comfortable collaborating across different teams while also taking ownership of your own work. An engineering degree or equivalent experience is required, while an L3 PG driving permit would be desirable.

This role offers the opportunity to build broad experience across durability, reliability and vehicle engineering. You will develop relationships across commodity, attribute, programme and purchasing teams while contributing directly to the definition and delivery of Aston Martin vehicles.
