Durability & Reliability Engineer
π Midlands (Hybrid, 3-4 days onsite)

6-Month Contract (Inside IR35)
Akkodis is partnering with a leading automotive OEM to recruit an experienced Durability & Reliability Engineer to support the development and validation of vehicle durability requirements, load cases, and testing activities.
This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist engineer with a strong background in durability, fatigue analysis, road load data acquisition (RLDA), and CAE interpretation to play a key role in delivering robust and reliable vehicle solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and cascade static load decks across engineering functions
- Develop duty cycles based on vehicle, system and component level targets
- Define and support rig and vehicle durability testing activities
- Manage RLDA data, perform load case calculations, validation and deployment
- Analyse CAE simulation data to refine damage coefficients and fatigue calculations
- Collaborate with centralised CAE teams to create and deploy design load cases
- Maintain testing procedures, work instructions and cycle unit management processes
- Drive continuous improvement of durability methodologies and databases

Essential Experience
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in durability engineering and fatigue analysis
- Strong understanding of RLDA processing and load case development
- Experience interpreting CAE simulation results
- Background in vehicle durability testing and validation
- Excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills
