Role Description
The Duty Manager role at The Range in Cardiff is a full-time, on-site position responsible for overseeing store operations during assigned shifts. The Duty Manager supports the Store Management team by coordinating staff, monitoring customer service standards, and ensuring that the store environment is safe, clean, and well-presented.

Daily tasks include:
- Supervising the sales floor
- Handling customer queries and escalations
- Managing till operations and cash handling procedures
- Supporting stock replenishment and merchandising

The role also involves:
- Monitoring compliance with company policies
- Assisting with opening and closing procedures
- Helping to meet sales and performance targets
The Duty Manager works closely with colleagues across departments to maintain smooth store operations and a positive customer experience.
Qualifications
- Experience in retail or customer-facing environments, with strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- People management capabilities, including team supervision, task delegation, coaching, and performance support.
- Operational skills such as cash handling, basic administration, and adherence to health, safety, and security procedures.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and respond to issues calmly.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise clearly with customers and team members.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and evenings, as required by store trading hours.
- Previous experience as a supervisor, team leader, or duty manager in retail or hospitality is beneficial.
- Basic IT skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems; additional training will be provided.
