Leisure Centre Duty Manager
Location: Stechford Leisure Centre, Birmingham, B33 8QN
Salary: £13,937.82 per annum (plus excellent benefits)
Schedule: 18 hours per week, flexible arrangements including early starts, late finishes, and weekends (6am–10.30pm)

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused Duty Manager to join our team at Stechford Leisure Centre and help deliver exceptional experiences that empower people to pursue better wellbeing.
Your role will focus on ensuring the facility operates smoothly, supporting visitors, and maintaining safety, accessibility, and professional standards.
Responsibilities
As the Leisure Centre Duty Manager, your key duties include:
- Acting as a key holder, safeguarding the centre by confidently opening and closing it
- Leading daily operations to ensure the facility runs safely and efficiently
- Supporting and guiding colleagues across reception, wet side, and dry side areas
- Allocating tasks, monitoring shift cover, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels
- Managing the daily booking system and efficiently handling customer requests and changes
- Delivering exceptional customer care through professional handling of enquiries, feedback, and complaints
- Conducting and recording health and safety inspections, responding promptly to identified risks
- Following Normal Operating Procedures (NOPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), ensuring incident protocols are upheld
- Acting decisively in emergency situations, adhering to established guidelines

Requirements
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Experience in a leisure, fitness, or customer-facing environment
- The ability to swim confidently with a valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
- Supervisory or team-support experience in a high-energy, fast-paced setting
- Strong communication skills, with a calm, professional manner under pressure
- Excellent organisational skills, committed to flexible, reliable shift work

Vetting & Checks: An Enhanced DBS check will be required, including details of convictions and safeguarding considerations. You’ll also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to receive appropriate support.
