What You'll Be Doing

Southwark Leisure is looking for a Duty Manager to join our team at Leisure Centre. Working as part of the Management Team, you will manage all aspects of operating the centre when on duty, ensuring high standard of customer care and safe operation of all activities.

Key Duties

  • Taking full responsibility for operation of the facility including acting as keyholder, security when opening/closing facility, and implementation of all Normal and Emergency Operating Procedures
  • Leading and managing the centre teams on duty, ensuring that high levels of centre presentation and service delivery are achieved at all times
  • Ensuring the centre operates in line with H&S and legislative requirements, and Council Policy and Procedures.
  • Manage any incidents arising, taking the lead in response to an emergency situation

What We're Looking For

Duty Managers need to be responsible and calm under pressure. You will have a friendly, approachable manner, excellent verbal communication skills, good numerical and written skills and be committed to delivering excellent customer service to our customers. Ideally, you will have supervisory experience in the leisure & hospitality or service industries and a good knowledge of the day-to-day running of a busy Leisure Centre.

Ideally, you'll have your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and Pool Plant Operators Certificate, but if not free training can be provided subject to passing a swim test The hours of work will be shift based, requiring early morning, evening and weekend working DBS required
