Duty Section Manager – ASOS Barnsley Operation

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a Duty Section Manager to join our high-performing ASOS Barnsley operation. This is no ordinary site! This is one of the largest single-site fulfilment centres in the UK, a massive 1.1 million square foot facility that ships to over 150 countries worldwide.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of a key operational area, leading, motivating, and developing your team to deliver against demanding KPIs while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and service. You’ll play a vital role in driving performance, building capability, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across a truly dynamic and fast-paced environment.
This is a full-time, permanent position, working any 5 days out of 7 on a Tuesday to Saturday rotation, from 14:45 – 23:15.
About the Role
As a Duty Section Manager at GXO, you will:
- Lead and develop First Line Managers and operational teams to achieve performance and service targets.
- Drive a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring full compliance and proactive risk management.
- Manage daily operations including labour planning, workflow prioritisation, and performance monitoring.
- Analyse performance data, identify root causes of issues, and implement continuous improvement solutions.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and create a positive, high-engagement team environment.

We’re looking to offer:
- Salary: Up to £38,251.20 per annum
- Annual leave: 264 hours (inclusive of bank holidays)

Requirements
Proven leadership experience within a fast-paced logistics or warehouse environment
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong bias for action
- Strong people management skills – ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams
- Experience working with KPIs, operational reporting & performance tools
- Good system knowledge (preference for WMS) and confidence using data to drive decisions
