Duty Security Manager

Location: Canary Wharf, London

Employment Type: Permanent

Full Time

Pay: £19.60 ph

Are you an experienced security professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional service? We're looking for a proactive and confident Duty Security Manager to join our team at one of Canary Wharf's premier corporate locations. In this role, you'll lead front-line security operations, support a high-performing team, and ensure the delivery of a safe, professional, and customer-focused security service.

About The Role

  • Act as the primary point of contact for daily security operations.
  • Supervise and deploy security personnel across the site.
  • Deliver shift briefings and ensure adherence to site procedures and security standards.
  • Monitor and manage security systems including CCTV, access control, key management, and emergency notification platforms.
  • Respond to incidents, emergencies, and security breaches, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
  • Produce accurate incident reports, handovers, and operational documentation.
  • Monitor staffing levels, manage shift coverage, and support rota planning.
  • Conduct investigations and present findings to stakeholders where required.
  • Maintain training records and support the ongoing development of team members.
  • Support health and safety compliance, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Build positive working relationships with clients, visitors, contractors, and colleagues.
  • Promote a professional and customer-focused security culture across the site.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a security environment, with strong operational knowledge of security procedures and best practice.
  • Confident using CCTV, access control, incident reporting, and other security management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and colleagues.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and incident management skills, with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Professional, proactive, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and security-related systems.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service while leading, developing, and supporting team performance.
  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence and First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends where required.

Desirable

  • SIA CCTV Licence.
  • Previous experience within a corporate security environment.
  • Experience managing contractors and wider site operations.
  • Experience delivering inductions, training sessions, safety briefings, or presentations.
  • Event security experience
