Job Title: DV Cleared Business Change Consultant
Location: Cheltenham (3-4 days per week onsite)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: Initial 12-month contract with strong extension potential
Rate: £60-£80 per hour (dependent on experience)
Must be willing and eligible to go through the DV Clearance process
Overview
We are looking for an experienced DV Cleared Business Change Consultant to join a high-profile transformation programme within a secure government and defence environment.
This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in delivering complex, technology-enabled transformation initiatives that drive meaningful and lasting business change. Working alongside clients and multidisciplinary delivery teams, you will help organisations successfully adopt new ways of working, maximise the benefits of investment in technology, and deliver strategic outcomes across major programmes.
Bringing your expertise in business transformation, stakeholder engagement, and change management, you will contribute to the successful delivery of client projects while supporting the development of future opportunities and consultancy offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of complex business transformation and technology-enabled change programmes.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to understand business challenges, define solutions, and drive successful outcomes.
- Prepare and support business areas transitioning to new operating models, processes, and technologies.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirements gathering activities.
- Develop and deliver communication, engagement, and change management plans.
- Produce high-quality project documentation, reports, impact assessments, and business change artefacts.
- Provide project management support on large-scale transformation programmes.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- Contribute to consultancy propositions, bids, business development activities, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Support the continuous development of business change methodologies and best practices.

Skills & Experience
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Essential
- Active DV Clearance.
- Experience delivering business change within large-scale transformation or technology programmes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills, including working with senior leadership teams.
- Proven ability to analyse complex business challenges and develop practical, innovative solutions.
- Experience preparing organisations and users for the adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working.
- Knowledge and practical application of business change and change management frameworks, tools, and techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences.
- Strong facilitation skills, including leading workshops with a variety of stakeholder groups.
- Ability to build trusted relationships and influence decision-making at all levels.
Desirable
- Experience within defence, national security, government, or highly regulated environments.
- APMG Change Management Practitioner certification.
- PROSCI Practitioner certification.
- MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) accreditation.
- Experience supporting digital transformation, service integration, operating model design, or organisational change initiatives.
- Consultancy experience gained within a client-facing environment.

Key Accountabilities
- Deliver high-quality business change and transformation outcomes that meet client objectives.
- Support stakeholder adoption and the successful embedding of change within client organisations.
- Produce deliverables to agreed quality standards, timescales, and budgetary constraints.
- Provide strategic and operational change advice to clients and programme teams.
- Work collaboratively within client delivery teams and alongside consultant partners from other organisations.
- Contribute to research, innovation, and continuous improvement activities.
