Location: Basingstoke (Onsite)

Rate: Up to £675 per day (via approved umbrella company)

Contract Length: Until 31st May 2027, with potential extension

Security Clearance: Active DV Clearance Required

We are seeking an experienced DV Cleared Senior Service Architect to join a high-profile programme delivering critical services within a secure environment. This role requires a strong background in both service management and technology, with responsibility for defining and delivering service design artefacts that support successful operational acceptance and long-term service delivery.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders, project teams, and technical architects to ensure that service solutions are scalable, supportable, compliant, and aligned with customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide service design direction and guidance based on customer requirements and desired outcomes.
  • Produce high-quality service design documentation, including:
    • High Level Designs (HLDs)
    • BPMN process models
    • Compliance statements
    • Operational processes and procedures
  • Undertake Service Management impact assessments for service and technology solutions.
  • Facilitate service readiness activities to ensure a smooth transition into live operation.
  • Perform service transition and service exit management activities.
  • Support the through-life management of services and technologies.
  • Review service design collateral produced by peers and provide constructive feedback.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues to the Domain Lead where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Solution Owners and technical teams to influence overall solution design, ensuring operational stability and service efficiency.
  • Contribute to related disciplines, including Testing and Security.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of ITIL, ISO 20000, and service management best practices.
  • Detailed understanding of:
    • ITIL processes
    • ITSM platforms and tooling
    • Enterprise Management tooling
  • Experience designing and implementing service management solutions within complex environments.
  • Knowledge of programme and project delivery methodologies, including:
    • PRINCE2
    • Agile
  • Experience with process and architecture modelling techniques such as:
    • UML
    • BPMN
  • Understanding of SIAM (Service Integration and Management) operating models.
  • Experience in requirements mapping and compliance assessment.
  • Commercial awareness with exposure to Statements of Work (SoW) and project schedules.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across technical, operational, and programme teams.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within highly secure government or defence environments.
  • Understanding of service transition, operational acceptance, and service assurance processes.
  • Knowledge of security and testing considerations within enterprise service architectures.
