Dynamics 365 & Finance Operations Developer
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Dynamics 365 & Finance Operations developer based in United Kingdom.
This is an opportunity for an experienced D365 Finance & Operations developer to build, customize, and evolve enterprise business solutions.
You will work hands-on with X++, D365 F&O architecture, integrations, reporting, and application performance.
The role involves designing robust solutions while collaborating closely with functional consultants, business analysts, QA, and technical teams.
You will contribute across the development lifecycle, from implementation and troubleshooting to testing, deployment, and platform upgrades.
Your expertise will help ensure reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned with business requirements.
The position offers exposure to modern Microsoft technologies, cloud integrations, and enterprise transformation initiatives.
It is well suited to a technically strong professional who combines development expertise with analytical thinking and effective communication.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, customize, maintain, and enhance solutions within Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
- Develop robust solutions using X++, extensions, Chain of Command (CoC), event handlers, and delegates, following D365 development best practices.
- Build and maintain workflows, batch jobs, data entities, reports, and other D365 F&O components.
- Develop and maintain integrations using OData, REST APIs, and D365 integration frameworks.
- Design, develop, and optimize SSRS reports to support business and operational requirements.
- Troubleshoot application issues, perform debugging, identify root causes, and optimize system performance.
- Work collaboratively with functional consultants, business analysts, QA professionals, and other technical teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, testing activities, deployments, release processes, and D365 F&O upgrades.
- Contribute to technical decisions around architecture, customization, integrations, and maintainability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure solutions adhere to established quality and development standards.

Requirements
- 5–8 years of professional experience developing solutions with Dynamics AX and/or Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
- Strong hands-on expertise in X++ and D365 F&O development, including extensions, Chain of Command, event handlers, and delegates.
- Good understanding of D365 F&O architecture, customization approaches, development standards, and best practices.
- Experience with Data Entities, Data Management Framework (DMF), OData, REST APIs, and D365 integration capabilities.
- Solid experience developing and optimizing SSRS reports.
- Good knowledge of SQL Server and experience working with enterprise data environments.
- Experience using Visual Studio and Azure DevOps for development, version control, and delivery processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, debug applications, and identify performance optimization opportunities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a structured and detail-oriented approach to development.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with functional and technical stakeholders.
- Experience participating in code reviews, testing, deployments, and enterprise software upgrade projects.
Nice to have:
- Experience with AX 2012 to D365 F&O migrations or upgrades.
- Microsoft Dynamics certifications.
- Experience with Azure integrations and/or Microsoft Power Platform.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
