D365 Functional Specialist

Employer: Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade

Position Status: Permanent, Full time

Reports To: Chief Technology Officer

Location: Home based

The Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade is the premier association for exporters and importers, empowering organizations and individuals with the tools and knowledge required for effective, sustainable, and competitive international trade.

We provide a comprehensive suite of memberships, qualifications, training, events, and advisory services for global trade professionals. In collaboration with the UK government, we set trade standards nationally and internationally. Job Brief

The role is responsible for the administration, configuration, and support of the organisation's Dynamics 365 and Power Platform environments. The postholder will ensure systems are maintained effectively, support users across the business, assist with process automation, and help maintain data quality and system performance.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external support partners, the role will contribute to the ongoing improvement of business systems, ensuring they remain reliable, efficient, and aligned with operational requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage user accounts, security roles, and access permissions within Dynamics 365.
  • Assist with the administration of Development, Test, and Production environments.
  • Configure and maintain forms, views, dashboards, charts, and business rules.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot Power Automate flows, classic workflows, and process automations.
  • Support business users by investigating issues and providing system support.
  • Assist with testing and validation of system changes prior to deployment.
  • Maintain data quality through regular cleansing, deduplication, and validation activities.
  • Document system configurations, automations, and support procedures.
  • Maintain CRM user guides, process documentation, and supporting materials.
  • Work with external support partners to resolve system issues and implement approved changes.
  • Deliver user training and provide guidance on system best practices.
  • Monitor system performance and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Follow established governance processes, naming conventions, and change control procedures.
  • Support integrations between Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and related business systems.
  • Assist with identifying opportunities to improve business processes through automation and system enhancements.

Desired Skills Set and Experience:

  • Experience supporting or administering Dynamics 365.
  • Understanding of Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement modules such as Sales and Customer Service.
  • Experience using Power Automate and Power Apps.
  • Good understanding of Dataverse tables, relationships, and security concepts.
  • Experience working with Dynamics 365 solutions, releases, and configuration changes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot workflows, Power Automate flows, and standard system configurations.
  • Understanding of integrations and data management principles.
  • Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into practical system solutions.
  • Experience working in a membership, not-for-profit, or professional services environment would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with web content management systems such as Umbraco would be beneficial.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience working within Agile or project delivery environments.
  • Good attention to detail and a structured approach to problem solving.
  • Able to work independently while following established governance and support processes.
