Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and customer-focused E-Commerce & Shop Floor Sales Assistant to join our team. This hybrid role combines online retail operations with face-to-face customer service, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both digital retail and working directly with people.
You'll play a key role in ensuring our online store runs smoothly while also delivering exceptional service to customers visiting the shop. From processing online orders and maintaining accurate product listings to helping customers find the right bike, parts, and accessories, no two days are the same.
For the right candidate, this role offers the opportunity to take on Keyholder responsibilities and act as Assistant Manager in the Store Manager's absence, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the business while providing a clear pathway for future career progression.
Key Responsibilities
E-Commerce
- Process and fulfil online customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Create, update, and maintain online product listings, including descriptions, pricing, specifications, and images.
- Maintain accurate stock levels across the website and point-of-sale system.
- Monitor inventory and report stock discrepancies.
- Respond to customer enquiries via email, telephone, and online channels.
- Assist with website promotions, new product launches, and seasonal campaigns.
- Work closely with suppliers and the workshop to ensure accurate product availability.
Shop Floor Sales
- Deliver outstanding customer service to every visitor.
- Provide knowledgeable advice on bicycles, accessories, clothing, components, and maintenance products.
- Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain attractive product displays and merchandising standards.
- Receive deliveries, replenish stock, and keep the store clean, organised, and well presented.
- Assist customers with workshop bookings and collections where required.
- Build lasting customer relationships through friendly and professional service.

General Store Responsibilities
- Support the smooth day-to-day running of the business.
- Assist with stock counts and inventory management.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and presentation throughout the store.
- Follow company policies and health & safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
Additional Responsibilities (For The Right Candidate)
Keyholder Duties
- Open and close the store following company procedures.
- Ensure the security of the premises, stock, and cash handling processes.
- Complete daily opening and closing checks.
- Maintain a safe working environment for staff and customers.
- Resolve customer issues professionally and confidently.
Acting Assistant Manager
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the store.
- Support and supervise colleagues during your shift.
- Delegate tasks and ensure operational priorities are completed.
- Maintain excellent customer service standards.
- Handle escalated customer enquiries and complaints.
- Monitor store performance and help achieve sales targets.
- Liaise with the workshop team to ensure efficient customer service.
Skills/Experience Required
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous retail or customer service experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail.
- Good computer literacy and confidence using online systems.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workload in a busy environment.
- A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience using e-commerce platforms such as Citrus Lime, Shopify, WooCommerce, or similar.
- Knowledge of retail stock management and point-of-sale systems.
- Previous experience as a Keyholder, Senior Sales Assistant, or Team Leader.
- Supervisory or leadership experience.
- A passion for cycling and a good knowledge of bikes, parts, accessories, and clothing.
