About The Job You’re Considering

We are looking for a Data Strategy Lead to define and drive the data strategy for CIS Managed Services. This role is accountable for setting the strategic direction for how data, analytics, automation and AI are used to enable data driven operations, improve service outcomes, remove waste, and increase operational efficiency.

The Data Strategy Lead will work across Managed Services leadership, operations, architecture and engineering teams to establish a clear, actionable roadmap for data and technology adoption. This includes defining how platforms such as Databricks, ServiceNow, and Power BI are used to support insight led decision making, intelligent automation, and AI enabled service management.

This role blends strategy, transformation leadership, and hands on engagement, ensuring that data strategy translates into measurable operational outcomes.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role

  • Define and own the data and analytics strategy for UK Managed Services, aligned to business outcomes, service performance, and client value.
  • Establish a clear vision for data‑driven operations, including how data is used to improve decision‑making, predict issues, optimise services, and reduce operational waste.
  • Determine and govern the technology approach for data platforms, analytics, and insight, including the use of Capgemini strategic products.
  • Drive the adoption of automation and AI, identifying opportunities where intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and AI‑assisted operations can improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify waste, inefficiency, and manual effort, and translate these into data‑led improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Ensure data strategy supports ITSM, service operations, and end‑user experience, leveraging platforms such as ServiceNow and operational data sources.
  • Lead collaboration across architecture, engineering, automation, and delivery teams to turn strategy into executable roadmaps and initiatives.
  • Measure and track the value and outcomes of data, automation, and AI initiatives, ensuring benefits realisation and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a senior data and insight leader, influencing stakeholders and promoting a culture of evidence‑based decision making.

Your Skills And Experience

  • Proven experience defining and delivering data and/or analytics strategy within complex operational or managed service environments.
  • Strong understanding of data‑driven operations, operational analytics, and performance management.
  • Experience selecting and governing data and analytics platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of ITSM and service operations platforms, such as ServiceNow, and how data can be leveraged to improve service performance.
  • Experience in providing data insights in the context of automation and AI adoption. Shaping roadmaps, and embedding capabilities into operations.
  • Ability to translate business and operational challenges into data, analytics, and automation opportunities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience working at senior leadership level.
  • Experience working in Agile and iterative delivery environments.
  • High‑level understanding of public cloud platforms and modern data architectures.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on waste reduction, efficiency, and value creation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
