Executive Assistant & Regulatory Operations Partner – Life Sciences

📍 Brighton/Hove + London | Hybrid Full-time

BEVEC is looking for someone slightly unusual.

We don't just need an Executive Assistant.

We're looking for someone with a legal background who wants to build a career within life sciences, pharmaceutical regulation and compliance, while working directly alongside our CEO.

You might be a law graduate, paralegal, legal assistant, SQE candidate or early-career legal/compliance professional.

You don't need years of pharmaceutical experience.

You do need to be exceptionally organised, commercially switched on, comfortable taking responsibility and genuinely interested in learning the life sciences industry.

The Role

You'll work closely with the CEO across two areas.

Executive & Business Operations

You'll become a trusted operational partner to the CEO, helping to:

  • Manage diary, meetings, travel and priorities
  • Prepare the CEO for client, investor and partner meetings
  • Capture actions and make sure they actually happen
  • Coordinate follow-ups with clients, prospects and partners
  • Keep projects, deadlines and internal teams moving
  • Prepare documents, proposals, briefs and correspondence
  • Help manage relationships across the UK and US
  • Protect the CEO's time and keep attention focused on the highest-value work

This isn't a role where you simply wait for instructions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We want someone who sees what needs doing and gets ahead of it.

Legal, Compliance & Regulatory

Alongside the EA role, we'll develop you within our life sciences regulatory and compliance work.

You'll learn and work across areas including:

  • Pharmaceutical and life sciences compliance
  • ABPI and EFPIA Codes
  • GDPR and data governance
  • Healthcare professional engagement
  • Meetings and events compliance
  • Contracts, NDAs and supplier documentation
  • Internal governance and approval processes
  • Compliance research and documentation
  • Audit trails, evidence and record keeping
  • Supporting client compliance and commercialisation projects

You won't be expected to know all of this on day one.

We want someone who wants to learn it.

Who We're Looking For

You'll ideally have a law degree, legal training or experience working within a legal, compliance or regulated environment.

More importantly, you'll be:

  • Extremely organised
  • Confident and professional
  • Detail obsessed
  • Comfortable around senior executives
  • Able to handle confidential information
  • Commercially minded
  • A strong writer and communicator
  • Comfortable challenging something when it doesn't look right
  • Able to research and understand complex information quickly
  • Someone who takes ownership rather than waits to be managed

An interest in biotech, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, regulation or commercial law would be a major advantage.

Where This Could Lead

We're deliberately building this as more than an EA position.

As BEVEC grows, we'd like the right person to develop their knowledge and responsibility across life sciences governance, compliance and regulatory operations, potentially progressing into a senior position within that function.

You'll have direct exposure to CEOs, founders, investors, pharmaceutical companies and growing biotech businesses in the UK and US.

You'll also work closely with our CEO and see first-hand how companies are funded, commercialised, scaled and taken towards market.

About BEVEC

BEVEC works with life sciences companies on the journey from scientific innovation to commercial growth.

We work across strategy, commercialisation, funding readiness, market engagement, compliance and execution — helping leadership teams turn promising science into commercially successful businesses.

We're growing quickly, and this person will sit close to the centre of that growth.

Interested?

Send us your CV together with a short note explaining why life sciences interests you and why you think you'd be good at working directly alongside a founder/CEO.

We care much more about attitude, intelligence, organisation and potential than having the perfect CV.
