Early Career Teacher – Primary
Location: Wandsworth, South West London
Salary: From £40,372 per annum (M1)
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
Start date: 28 September 2026 or as soon as possible

A welcoming and ambitious primary school in Wandsworth is seeking an Early Career Teacher to join its committed team. The school offers a broad curriculum, positive relationships and a collaborative approach to planning and professional development.
The successful Early Career Teacher will take responsibility for a primary class, with the year group matched as closely as possible to their experience and strengths.
Responsibilities
- Planning and teaching engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
- Adapting teaching to meet pupils’ different abilities and needs
- Creating a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom
- Assessing learning and using outcomes to inform future planning
- Supporting pupils’ academic progress and personal development
- Working closely with year-group colleagues, teaching assistants and senior leaders
- Communicating professionally with parents and carers
- Contributing to wider school life and professional-development activities
- Meeting all safeguarding and Teachers’ Standards requirements

Requirements
- UK Qualified Teacher Status by the start of the role
- Recent UK primary teaching placements or classroom experience
- Secure knowledge of the primary curriculum
- A reflective and enthusiastic approach to teaching
- Strong planning, assessment and behaviour-management skills
- A commitment to inclusive practice and high expectations
- Good professional references from recent teaching placements
- The right to work in the UK
