Early Careers: Sophomore Actuarial Career Discovery Program
Aon is in the business of better decisions
At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.
What is the Sophomore Actuarial Career Discovery Program?
College Sophomores have the unique opportunity to connect with an advisor working in the actuarial field at Aon to learn more about a consulting career from one of our solutions team from either Health, Wealth, Risk, or Reinsurance and practice real-world scenarios during the discovery program.
How this opportunity is different
This mentorship opportunity gives students considering a career in actuarial science to connect with professionals and peers throughout this virtual program. This program is designed for sophomores and used as a direct pipeline to our Summer 2028 Actuarial Intern opportunities!
At the end of the program, selected mentees will have the opportunity to be fast-tracked to a final round interview for consideration for our intern program. While the mentor program is virtual, candidates would select location preferences that are aligned with their interests for Summer 2028 internship opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
