About the role
Our Early Careers & Campaigns team plays an important role in building NFU Mutual’s future talent pipeline. From graduate schemes and internships to volume recruitment campaigns, we partner with the business to attract, assess and hire talented people who will help shape the future of our organisation. Taking a skills-based approach to hiring, we look beyond experience to identify potential and help people develop rewarding careers with us.
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you'll support the delivery of a range of Early Careers and Volume recruitment campaigns, partnering closely with Talent Acquisition Consultants who lead each campaign. You'll play a key role in managing candidate pipelines, screening and shortlisting applications, and supporting assessment centre activities. Through your organisation and attention to detail, you'll help keep recruitment campaigns on track while ensuring candidates receive a positive and engaging experience from application to offer.
Many of our campaigns recruit towards fixed cohort start dates, so effective planning, organisation and prioritisation will be essential. You’ll support multiple campaigns and deadlines, using our recruitment systems and technology to monitor progress, maintain accurate candidate information and identify where proactive action is needed.
Working collaboratively with the team, you’ll use sound judgement and attention to detail to support fair, evidence-based hiring decisions while keeping recruitment activity on track.
In this role, you’ll:
- Support the end-to-end delivery of Early Careers and Volume recruitment campaigns, helping to ensure key milestones and hiring requirements are achieved.
- Screen and assess candidates through application reviews, online assessments, introductory conversations and structured selection processes, applying agreed criteria consistently and objectively.
- Use sound judgement to make informed decisions to support fair, evidence-based processes.
- Manage candidate pipelines using our applicant tracking system and other tools to monitor progress, maintain accurate records and take proactive action to address potential delays.
- Plan, coordinate and facilitate interviews, assessment centres and recruitment events, ensuring candidates, hiring managers and assessors have the information and support they need.
- Support multiple campaigns, activities and deadlines simultaneously, prioritising effectively and adapting your approach as requirements change.
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition Consultants to coordinate recruitment activity, resolve issues and support the successful delivery of recruitment campaigns.
- Deliver an exceptional candidate experience through clear, timely and supportive communication at every stage of the recruitment process.
- Ensure recruitment activity is completed accurately and in line with company policies, recruitment procedures and relevant compliance requirements.
- Champion diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the recruitment lifecycle, supporting consistent and inclusive selection practices.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
