Early Intervention Key Worker
We are currently seeking compassionate, highly organised and confident individuals to join our Early Intervention & Partnerships team as Early Intervention Key Workers. These are new posts, fixed term and grant funded through Families First, supporting early intervention work with children, young people and families across Neath Port Talbot.
As an Early Intervention Key Worker, you will build trusted relationships with families, help identify strengths and needs, provide information and advice, and support families to access the right help at the right time.
Your daily routine will include:
- Meeting families in their homes, community venues or virtually to build relationships and complete holistic assessments.
- Listening to families, encouraging open dialogue and agreeing practical steps for support and development.
- Signposting and referring families, with consent, to appropriate local services and agencies.
- Helping families overcome barriers to engagement and encouraging sustained participation with support.
- Working closely with colleagues and partner agencies to provide coordinated, joined-up support.
- Maintaining accurate records, monitoring progress and reviewing outcomes within tight timescales.
About you
Do you have:
- Experience of building effective relationships and working with children, young people and families with complex needs in community settings.
- Experience of multi-agency partnership working and confidence working closely with services that support families.
- Knowledge and understanding of issues affecting families.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, use empathy and maintain professional boundaries.
- The ability to positively influence and encourage families to engage with support, including where there may be barriers to access.
- Strong organisation skills, with the ability to manage your own workload, keep accurate records and work to tight timescales.
- A minimum Level 4 qualification, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline such as HNC or NVQ in Health and Social Care.
- A full driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.
