Early Intervention Manager

We are currently seeking a strong, experienced and values-led leader to join our Early Years, Inclusion and Partnerships service as Early Intervention Manager. This is a new role with a key opportunity to shape the strategic direction, development and delivery of early intervention and prevention support for children, young people and families across Neath Port Talbot.

As Early Intervention Manager, you will provide strategic leadership for NPT Family Information Service, the Childcare Offer for Wales and early intervention and prevention services. You will support the Think Family Partnership Manager to ensure services are coordinated, compliant, evidence-informed and responsive to the needs of families, while building strong partnerships across the local authority, Welsh Government, statutory partners and the third sector.

Your regular work will include:

  • Leading, supporting and developing staff across Early Intervention and Prevention, NPT Family and Childcare Offer Wales teams.
  • Driving service improvement, delivery planning, monitoring and evaluation in line with local and Welsh Government requirements.
  • Overseeing the effective delivery of Family Information Service, early intervention panel and Childcare Offer Wales responsibilities in Neath Port Talbot.
  • Developing strong multi-agency relationships to improve information, advice, assistance and family support pathways.
  • Using data, performance information and feedback to produce concise reports and inform strategic decisions.
  • Ensuring services are safe, compliant, digitally enabled and focused on improving outcomes for children, young people and families.

About you

  • Substantial management experience within services for children and families, early intervention, prevention or a related field.
  • A proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively, setting clear expectations and supporting staff to deliver high-quality services.
  • Significant experience of multi-agency partnership working, including with statutory and third sector partners.
  • Successful project management experience, including budget management, monitoring, evaluation and service improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of the Families First programme, Family Information Service, Childcare Offer for Wales and relevant legislation affecting children, young people and families.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and report-writing skills, with the ability to use data and performance information to inform decisions.
  • A degree level or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant subject, plus a Level 5 Management qualification.
  • A commitment to improving services for children, young people and families through person-centred, collaborative and strengths-based practice.
