Overview
The London Borough of Harrow is looking for passionate and dedicated Early Support Practitioners to join our Early Support Service and help make a positive difference to the lives of children, young people and families across the borough. Working with age ranges from pre-birth through to 25 years, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality early intervention and preventative support, helping families build resilience, improve wellbeing and achieve better outcomes. Through a combination of individual support, group work, parenting programmes and health and education activities, you will help ensure that children and young people receive the right support at the right time.
As part of a skilled and supportive multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with children, young people, parents, carers and partner organisations to identify needs, create opportunities and deliver evidence-based interventions. You will contribute to the planning and delivery of engaging activities, support families to access services, promote safeguarding and inclusion, and work collaboratively across Children's Centres, Youth Services and community settings. The role requires a proactive and compassionate approach, with a strong commitment to helping families overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

Depending on grade and level of responsibility, you may undertake key worker functions, complete Early Support Needs Analyses, lead targeted interventions and support families experiencing more complex challenges. 2 year fixed-term contract.
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Deliver high-quality early support services to children, young people and families, helping to improve outcomes and wellbeing.
- Plan and lead engaging group activities, programmes and interventions using evidence-based approaches.
- Build positive relationships with children, young people, parents, carers and partner agencies.
- Act as a champion for best practice and support the continuous improvement of services.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and across community settings.
- Undertake assessment, planning, monitoring and review activities to ensure effective support and positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and case notes, using IT systems effectively.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Be flexible in working evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the service.
- Hold relevant qualifications or equivalent experience, alongside a commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
- Early years care and education vocational qualification level 3 or above and commitment to study to level 4 and above. Level 2/3 certificate in Youth Work.
