We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years (EYFS) Teacher to join Surbiton High Girls’ Preparatory School on a full‑time maternity cover basis from November 2026. This role is well suited to a reflective and nurturing practitioner who is passionate about early childhood education and supporting young learners to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
You will play a key role in delivering high‑quality EYFS provision, working collaboratively within a supportive team to ensure every child is inspired and encouraged to achieve their very best.
The school has a warm and caring atmosphere where pupils can flourish; we put great emphasis on the personal development of each individual. The school is also strong in academic achievement; we expect good results from our students in all subjects and have students of above average ability who are highly motivated and achieve excellent outcomes. There is a very committed and supportive staff body who are passionate about teaching and ensuring that the girls truly thrive during their time at the school.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver engaging, well‑planned teaching across all areas of the EYFS, creating a calm, inclusive and stimulating learning environment that supports pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
- Promote a love of learning through thoughtful differentiation, effective assessment and close monitoring of pupil progress against the EYFS framework and Early Learning Goals
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and pupils to deliver an ambitious curriculum and enrich learning through trips, visits and other opportunities beyond the classroom

We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic teacher who is positive, team‑focused, and passionate about early years education. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly welcomed and will be well supported within our collaborative and experienced staff team.
