Lullaby Lane Nurseries is an Attachment Led Nursery, based in the heart of Milngavie and Hogganfield, specialising in the care of children aged 0-5 years old, the most formative years of a child’s life. There is a wealth of research to indicate the environment a child is exposed to, in the very earliest of years, has an impact on how they develop cognitively, emotionally and socially, which they take with them through into adulthood.

Our Early Years Practitioners are responsible for providing a high standard of learning, development and care for our children, which is steeped in the knowledge of attachment theory and early brain development. Supported by our Nursery Manager, Depute Managers and Team Leaders, our team will nurture environments that are emotionally and physically safe.

Role of the Early Years Practitioner

• To ensure our environments are safe, nurturing and engaging both indoors and outdoors
• To meet with our families at drop off and pick up times
• Provide a high level of awareness to transition periods and be responsive to the emotional needs of our children and families during this time
• Plan stimulating and engaging activities for our children to thrive
• Prepare lunch and snacks
• Undertake risk assessments
• Complete daily paperwork, including but not limited to, risk assessments, registers and room temperatures
• Complete observations for our children and update our learning log system
• Be involved in supporting new children to settle into our nursery environment
• Complete home visits as and when appropriate
• Liaise closely with our families, informing them of activities and exchanging information about progress
