Early Years Practitioner – Gateshead

Location: Gateshead, Tyne and Wear

Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time

Hours: Flexible – Nursery and Primary School Hours

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Education World is currently recruiting for qualified Early Years Practitioners to work across a range of nursery and primary school settings in Gateshead.

We have opportunities available for practitioners looking for nursery-based work as well as those who prefer school-friendly hours, making this a great option for candidates looking for flexibility around their working week.

The Role

As an Early Years Practitioner, you may be working within a private nursery or a primary school early years setting, supporting children through their early development and learning.

You Will:

  • Provide high-quality care, support, and education for children aged 0–5.
  • Support children's learning through engaging, age-appropriate activities and play.
  • Follow the EYFS framework and contribute to children's learning and development.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Support children's personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
  • Work effectively as part of a wider early years team.

Requirements

  • A relevant Early Years qualification, such as Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare/Early Years.
  • Previous experience working with children in an early years or primary setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Paediatric First Aid is preferable, but not essential.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and the EYFS.
