Early Years Recruitment and Onboarding Specialist - Family-Run Nursery Group

£32-40k (dependent on experience, background and exposure to relevant systems and processes)

Location: Hybrid role with Head Office in Clapham (SW11) and regular travel expected to nurseries. On average, you could expect to be in the office or in nurseries 2-3 times per week (based on company needs)

Working pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Our client is a family-run nursery group with a strong reputation for high-quality early years care across several London sites. They're looking for a Recruitment and Onboarding Specialist to join their current Recruitment Manager to own hiring and onboarding across the group, with the level of the role and salary shaped entirely around what the right candidate brings with them.

This is a genuinely flexible opportunity, open to someone looking for their next recruitment role as much as someone with industry experience who is ready for a change from operations to behind the scenes recruitment. What matters most is that you have a strong knowledge of end-to-end recruitment and onboarding, including the systems and processes behind it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is a hybrid role based in the Clapham office, with home working available, and you'll be expected to be out in the nurseries regularly, working closely with managers and their teams to understand their hiring needs. If you want a role that rewards genuine capability and gives you room to define where it sits, this is worth a look!

Key responsibilities:

  • End-to-end recruitment: Managing vacancies from advertising through to offer and start date; building strong relationships with nursery managers and senior leadership to understand hiring needs across the group.
  • Onboarding and compliance: Leading onboarding for every new starter, including DBS checks, references, right to work and qualification verification; all in line with safer recruitment practice.
  • Systems and process: Working confidently with recruitment and onboarding systems, and contributing to, or leading, improvements to process as the group grows.
  • Travel and events: Representing the organisation at relevant recruitment and networking events across London

About you:

  • Experienced: Due to the nature of the role, experience in a recruitment role within childcare, education, healthcare, or another highly regulated and high-volume sector would be hugely desirable. However, if you also have significant experience in a hiring management role within the same sectors, at a level that matches your expectations for the role.
  • Systems-confident: Comfortable working with recruitment and onboarding systems and processes, with a good understanding of safer recruitment and compliance requirements.
  • A strong communicator: Confident building relationships with hiring managers and candidates alike, and happy splitting time between the office and nursery visits.
