Working in a childcare setting with children aged 0-5, you will be working towards an Advanced Diploma in Early Years. This apprenticeship will last for 14 months and requires dedication, commitment, and punctuality.

Responsibilities
- Creating a fun, engaging, and safe environment for children.
- Teaching within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements.
- Participating in a range of indoor and outdoor activities.
- Supporting children with self-care needs such as feeding and personal hygiene.
- Communicating with other team members and parents.
- Liaising with external customers and parents.
- Providing a high level of service for the childcare setting.
- Recognising when a child or colleague is at risk of abuse and acting to protect them.
- Applying legislation, policy, and procedure to protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of children.
- Applying principles of risk assessment and risk management.
- Teaching children to manage risk and maintain their own and others' safety.
- Using various communication methods, including technology, to meet individual child needs.
- Developing and maintaining effective professional relationships with others involved in a child's education and care.
- Undertaking the role and responsibilities of a key person.
- Recognising and applying theories of attachment.
- Providing sensitive and respectful personal care.
- Advocating for all children's needs, including those with SEND or EAL support.
- Promoting and facilitating children's interpersonal communication.
- Supporting children to develop a positive sense of their own identity and culture.
- Supporting children to understand and respond to their emotions.
- Assessing the environment for effective child-centred experiences.
- Creating inclusive, child-centred physical environments.
- Creating inclusive and supportive emotional environments.
- Applying strategies to support children's ability to manage change and transition.
- Analysing observation evidence to assess and plan learning.
- Facilitating and supporting child-centred opportunities and experiences.
- Providing adult-led opportunities and experiences.
- Using reflection for professional and personal development.
- Completing a qualification in paediatric first aid.

About Puddle Jumpers
Set within the charming streets of Wapping, our newest setting is a five-minute walk from Wapping Overground Station. Built in 1871, this stunning and unique building provides children with ample space and opportunity to spend their formative years. We have 7 classrooms tailored to specific age groups, all with large windows flooding the rooms with natural sunlight. We have created a bright, stimulating, warm, and cosy environment for children to feel comfortable and secure.
- Dedicated Spaces: Mini Kitchen, Life Sciences area, Art Atelier, and a Dedicated Library with reading nooks.
- Garden and Outdoor Learning: A large outdoor space designed to stimulate physical play and learning about nature, including raised growing beds, a mud kitchen, a climbing structure, and a tricycle track. Our Forest School curriculum is delivered in local green spaces. Regular outings to experience local community learning opportunities.
