Location: Midlands
Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced EC&I Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering complex industrial automation and machine control solutions.
Working across the full project lifecycle, you will be responsible for producing high-quality Electrical, Control & Instrumentation designs from concept through to installation and commissioning. This role offers exposure to technically challenging projects within highly regulated environments, including nuclear and other high-integrity industries.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
- Produce EC&I designs to customer and project requirements
- Develop control panel layouts and detailed engineering drawings
- Produce electrical schematics and interlock diagrams
- Generate manufacturing and installation documentation
- Specify PLCs, HMIs, motor starters, drives and instrumentation
- Design power distribution and safety-related control systems
- Produce hardware specifications and bills of materials

Project Delivery
- Support projects to agreed budgets and schedules
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and quality procedures
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Support installation, testing and commissioning activities when required
Business Support
- Provide technical input for bids and tender submissions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the EC&I function
Essential Requirements
- HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation, Automation Engineering or related discipline
- Experience in electrical and control system design within industrial environments
- Proven experience designing bespoke special-purpose machinery
- Strong knowledge of industrial automation and machine control systems
- Ability to produce technical specifications and engineering documentation
- Experience working within structured engineering project environments

- AutoCAD & AutoCAD Electrical
- Control panel design
- Electrical schematics and interlock diagrams
- PLC/HMI systems
- Instrumentation and safety systems
- Power distribution design
- Microsoft Office Suite

- Nuclear sector experience
- Highly regulated industry experience
- Functional Safety and IEC 61508 knowledge
- Installation, testing and commissioning experience
- Eligibility for SC Clearance
