United Environmental Services Ltd (UES) is a leading independent ecological consultancy operating across the UK, specialising in large and complex projects. The company provides high-quality ecological and environmental services to clients across the public and private sector. UES ecologists are highly experienced in surveying, licensing, and mitigating for a wide range of protected species and habitats. They hold licences from Natural England, Natural Resources Wales, and Scottish Natural Heritage, and maintain professional memberships including ISO9001 & ISO14001 along with certifications from CIEEM and ISEP.
Role Description
The Ecology Office Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Kingsley, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the ecology office. This role includes:
- Coordinating project schedules
- Supporting ecologists with survey logistics
- Managing documentation
- Ensuring accurate data entry and report formatting
- Handling client correspondence
- Assisting with proposals and tender documentation
- Maintaining internal systems to track project progress and compliance
- Managing office resources
- Supporting financial processes such as invoicing and budget tracking
- Implementing quality assurance procedures

The Ecology Office Manager will collaborate closely with the consultancy team to ensure efficient workflow, timely delivery of ecology services, and a well-organized office environment.

Qualifications
- Strong office administration and organisational skills, including scheduling, document management, and records maintenance.
- Experience with project coordination and support, ideally within ecological consulting or professional services.
- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools) and comfort with databases or project management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client correspondence, internal communication, and supporting report preparation.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, formatting, proofreading, and tracking project deliverables.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines in a busy office environment.
- Understanding or interest in ecology, environmental management, or related disciplines; prior experience in an ecology or environmental consultancy is advantageous.
- Experience supporting basic financial processes such as invoicing, expense tracking, and budget monitoring is beneficial.
- Collaborative work style, with the ability to build positive working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
- Relevant education or training in business administration, environmental management, or a related field is desirable but not essential with suitable experience.
