ECommerce AI Engineer
Company: S-Cube Technologies

Contract: Permanent, full-time
Location: Paddington, London, UK [Hybrid]
Role Overview
S-Cube Technologies is looking for a commercially minded AI Commerce Engineer to build digital platforms, AI agents, and internal tools that support business growth.
You will develop high-performing websites, booking journeys, e-commerce integrations, AI communication agents, dashboards, and automated workflows. This role combines software engineering, AI implementation, and commercial problem-solving to improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and revenue performance.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Platforms and Commerce
- Build and manage WordPress websites from concept to launch.
- Integrate booking engines, payment systems, e-commerce platforms, and client portals.
- Improve website performance, security, accessibility, SEO, and conversion rates.
- Manage GA4, Google Tag Manager, Search Console, Google Ads tracking, and A/B testing.
- Optimise user journeys to increase leads, bookings, and revenue.
AI Agents and Automation
- Develop AI assistants for websites, WhatsApp, email, and other customer channels.
- Connect AI agents with CRM, booking, and customer-service systems.
- Automate enquiries, lead qualification, booking support, and follow-up communication.
- Build solutions using OpenAI APIs, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector search, and tool calling.
- Implement permissions, monitoring, escalation workflows, and data-privacy controls.
- Integrate third-party systems through APIs, webhooks, and data pipelines.
- Automate repetitive commercial and operational workflows.
- Create reporting tools for leads, bookings, performance, and customer activity.
- Maintain documentation, testing, monitoring, and system reliability.

Commercial Innovation
- Identify technology opportunities that improve revenue, efficiency, and customer experience.
- Evaluate build-versus-buy options and recommend suitable platforms.
- Turn internal AI tools into repeatable client-facing products.
- Work with management, engineering, marketing, and commercial teams to deliver measurable results.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years’ experience in AI, software, commerce, or platform engineering.
- Strong Python and JavaScript or TypeScript development skills.
- WordPress development experience, including custom themes, plugins, APIs, and optimisation.
- Experience with booking engines, e-commerce platforms, and payment integrations.
- Booking journey optimisation, lead-generation funnel setup, revenue tracking, customer journey mapping
- Practical experience with OpenAI APIs, LLMs, RAG, and agentic workflows.
- Experience integrating CRMs, WhatsApp Business, webhooks, and third-party APIs.
- Strong SQL, data integration, and dashboard development skills.
- Knowledge of technical SEO, GA4, Tag Manager, Google Ads tracking, and conversion optimisation.
- Experience with Operacloud, Opera V5
- Ability to translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
- Strong communication, documentation, and project-delivery skills.

Desirable Experience
- Hospitality, travel, or multi-property booking platforms.
- WooCommerce, Shopify, or similar commerce technologies.
- HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, or similar CRM platforms.
- Django, React, Angular, AWS, or other cloud technologies.
- WhatsApp Cloud API, Twilio, or similar communication platforms.
- Operacloud, Opera V5

- Successful delivery of websites, booking platforms, dashboards, and AI tools.
- Improved qualified leads, bookings, conversion rates, and customer engagement.
- Reduced manual work through automation.
- Reliable AI agents with strong accuracy, monitoring, and escalation processes.
