ABOUT THE ROLE

Key role within the E-commerce Photo Studio team, helping to deliver inspiring digital assets to the business. Ensuring website imagery is retouched correctly, products are the correct colour and images are optimum quality for E-commerce and multi-channel publishing. Co-ordination of the Image Retouch & Copy teams to ensure operational success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Approval of Retouch & Copywriting team holiday requests
  • Scheduling and rota planning for Retouch & Copywriting teams.
  • Distributing of tasks to the Retouch & Copywriting teams and monitoring workload
  • Performance management of Retouch & Copywriting team including conducting twice yearly a performance review.
  • Quality assurance of retouched E-commerce content images, taking ownership of all the final retouched images moving through the business. Quality control and archival management for final photo studio image assets
  • Receive, organise and proof-check all retouched content imagery submitted for upload; across ECOM, JOOR, and sample shoots. Ensure that colour, size, and image quality are up to standard, file names are always correct; no files in a set are missing and fixing minor retouch issues or highlighting for retouching team to amend before uploading.
  • Work with Studio Mid-Weights and Photography team to ensure all shoot schedules are in line with deadline targets and weekly uploads.
  • Establish edit and brand guidelines for style of imagery including templating, lighting, and retouching, striving for consistent and perfect final files to ensure website consistency and quality.
  • Prioritise all seasonal/carry over content to be uploaded on the VW website, ensuring all imagery meets agreed guideline and quality assurance checks as standard.
  • Conduct consistent and regular checks across the VW website, analysing existing content imagery for review, refresh, and reshoot. Flagging anything for re-shoot as well as noticing details missed by retouching or photographers.
  • Work alongside the E-commerce Merchandise and Studio teams to coordinate and respond to image requests, communicating in a timely and professional manner.
  • Allocate time within the content schedule to review all Photo Studio Asset management and version control. Assessing the use of image folders across the VW server and system
  • Attend and participate in cross-department discussions on the development of VW brand imaging, shoot approach, and image quality - in-line with company led art direction / goals.
  • Command and lead team meetings to discuss any issues relating to product photography and retouch quality.
  • Brief Photo Studio Retouch and Photography teams on design feedback received or related to content imagery. Provide directional points from design teams to review or action.
  • Reviewing and implementing any image-related workflow processes. Strategize long-term content creation plans with senior management and other departments.
  • Lead team training and development for prep, styling, and retouch of product
  • Identify new opportunities for content creation and retouch. Suggest studio equipment, research new techniques, tools, market trends, and shoot approaches to support the team in improving studio processes.
  • Forecast and plan weeks ahead to identify personal workload, alongside studio activities and peak/off-peak production seasons.
  • Keep accurate administrative records for all Photo Studio imagery, maintaining the upkeep of all file versions and efficient file transfer for ECOM, JOOR, and external requests.
  • Support with wider projects affecting Photo Studio Content, such as system integrations, DAM workflows, and image requests from company stakeholders.
  • Respond to ad-hoc Content Image-related requests and enquiries. Retouching when required.
  • Be the point of contact for any Content Image-related queries for Photo Studio or feedback.
