Zachary Daniels Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a highly successful and growing fashion retailer to recruit an Ecommerce Director.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established, multi-channel fashion business with a strong customer following and ambitious plans for continued growth. With a significant online operation already in place, the business is looking for an experienced Ecommerce Director to take ownership of ecommerce performance and play a key role in shaping the next stage of digital growth.

This is not a turnaround role. The foundations are there, the opportunity is significant, and the business is investing in its digital proposition, technology, and people.

Role Overview

The Ecommerce Director will have broad responsibility across ecommerce trading and digital marketing, bringing together online trading, customer acquisition, digital performance, and the wider customer journey. You'll work closely with the senior leadership team and key stakeholders across the business, with the autonomy to challenge, influence, and make decisions that have a direct commercial impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver the ecommerce strategy, driving continued growth across online sales, conversion, customer acquisition, and profitability.
  • Lead the day-to-day ecommerce trading agenda, ensuring the online proposition is commercially optimized across product, pricing, promotions, content, and customer journey.
  • Take ownership of ecommerce and digital performance, using data and insight to identify opportunities, improve trading results, and maximize customer value.
  • Lead digital marketing activity across key acquisition and retention channels, ensuring investment is aligned to commercial objectives.
  • Work closely with Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, Product, Technology, and Operations to deliver a joined-up ecommerce and customer strategy.
  • Develop and optimize the online trading calendar, aligning campaigns, product launches, promotions, and key seasonal opportunities.
  • Drive improvements across conversion, AOV, traffic, customer acquisition, retention, and overall online profitability.
  • Oversee performance across paid media, paid social, CRM, email, SEO, and other relevant digital channels, ensuring activity delivers against agreed KPIs.
  • Use customer and commercial data to understand behavior, identify trends, and inform strategic and trading decisions.
  • Lead the ongoing development of the digital customer journey and onsite experience.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the use of technology, data, automation, and emerging digital capabilities.
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure digital activity is delivered effectively and delivers strong commercial returns.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing ecommerce and digital team, creating clear accountability and a strong performance culture.
  • Keep the business ahead of developments across ecommerce, digital marketing, social commerce, technology, and the wider fashion retail landscape.
  • Present trading performance, strategic recommendations, and growth opportunities to senior leadership.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
