Role: Ecommerce Director

Location: Hybrid - UK with regular travel to HQ in the south of England

Reporting to: CEO

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an exceptional and commercially astute Global Ecommerce Director to lead and significantly scale the direct-to-consumer (DTC) ecommerce business for a high-growth brand backed by Growth Partner.

This is a pivotal leadership role in an exciting investor-backed business responsible for defining and executing the global ecommerce strategy, driving aggressive revenue growth, enhancing customer experience, and expanding the brand's digital footprint across all key markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the global ecommerce strategy, roadmap and budget, driving growth in conversion rate, AOV, customer lifetime value and overall customer experience across all regions.
  • Lead trading performance, working closely with merchandising and brand teams to hit calendar and budget targets.
  • Build, lead and mentor a high-performing global ecommerce team spanning performance marketing, UX/UI, content and ecommerce operations.
  • Optimise performance marketing across paid and organic channels (PPC, SEO, social, affiliates, email, SMS) to maximise ROI and acquisition efficiency, in close partnership with the brand team.
  • Champion a customer-centric approach to site experience, personalisation, retention, loyalty and CRM.
  • Use data, A/B testing and analytics to guide decisions, and present insights and recommendations to the executive team.
  • Lead the strategic development of the ecommerce platform (currently Shopify Plus) and its wider app/technology ecosystem.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, brand, merchandising and operations teams, including forecasting, inventory planning and new product launches.

What You'll Bring:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in ecommerce, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role (Head of Ecommerce, Ecommerce Director) specifically within a DTC retail or lifestyle brand.
  • Proven track record of significantly scaling global ecommerce revenue and profitability.
  • Deep expertise in Shopify Plus and its ecosystem is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of global market dynamics, cultural nuances, and international shipping/logistics.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with experience building and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in performance marketing channels (paid search, paid social, SEO, email marketing) and a strong understanding of customer acquisition and retention strategies.
  • A natural commercial acumen with a focus on ROI and business growth.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Proactive, agile, and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
