eCommerce Manager
£45,000 – £50,000
Birmingham - hybrid working
Are you an Ecommerce Manager who loves getting under the skin of online performance – understanding what customers are doing, where opportunities are being missed and what needs to change to drive growth?
We’re working with a fast-growing Birmingham-based ecommerce business that has experienced significant growth across its portfolio of brands. Operating within the heating, cooling and electrical sector, the business sells a broad range of products through multiple ecommerce websites and marketplaces. With ambitious plans for continued growth, they’re now investing further into their ecommerce team and looking for an experienced eCommerce Manager to join them.
This is a commercially focused role where you’ll have real ownership over ecommerce performance. You’ll be looking at everything from traffic and conversion through to average order value, merchandising and the overall customer journey, using data to understand what’s working, what isn't and where the next opportunity sits.
Reporting into the Head of eCommerce, you’ll work closely with the wider digital, marketing, merchandising and creative teams to drive profitable online growth.
What will you be doing?
Day-to-day, you’ll take ownership of trading performance across the company’s ecommerce sites, keeping a close eye on revenue, margin, traffic, conversion and AOV. You’ll use this insight to identify opportunities and make improvements across the customer journey, including:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

- Improving onsite merchandising, product discovery, navigation, search and category structures.
- Ensuring bestsellers, new products and key commercial ranges are positioned effectively across the sites.
- Managing online product launches, hero products, clearance and end-of-life ranges.
- Developing a CRO roadmap and identifying where customers are dropping out of the journey.
- Testing and improving landing pages, product pages and checkout journeys to increase conversion and AOV.
- Using A/B testing and customer behaviour insights to inform future improvements.
- Supporting customer acquisition and retention activity, working with the wider marketing team to grow relevant traffic.

What are we looking for?
You'll already have experience as an eCommerce Manager or similar commercially focused ecommerce role, ideally within retail, D2C or another product-led consumer business.
You'll need a strong understanding of the ecommerce journey and experience across areas such as trading, onsite merchandising, CRO and SEO. You'll be comfortable working with analytics and customer behaviour tools, using data to make commercial decisions rather than relying on gut feel alone. Experience with platforms such as Shopify and tools including Google Analytics, Looker or Microsoft Clarity would be beneficial.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is commercial, curious and proactive. Someone who enjoys getting into the detail but can also step back, see the bigger picture and prioritise the changes that will make the biggest difference.
You'll be joining a growing team where there is plenty happening, lots still to develop and genuine scope to influence how the ecommerce function evolves.
If you're looking for an Ecommerce Manager role where you can take ownership, test ideas and have a measurable impact on online growth, we'd love to hear from you.
