E-Commerce Manager - Farringdon, London - 4mths+ Contract
My client, a market leader with their product are looking to recruit an E-Commerce Manager on an initial 4mth contract basis. The role can be described as follows:
The Role:
As E-Commerce Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day trading, merchandising, maintenance and ongoing optimisation of my client's website. The website is a critical part of the consumer journey and a key driver of our commercial performance. You will work closely with Commercial, Marketing, CRM, Technology and European e-commerce teams to ensure that our product ranges, promotions and campaigns are translated into compelling and effective online experiences. You will combine strong operational execution with consumer insight and a continuous-improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Website Trading and Merchandising
- Own the daily trading and execution of the promotional plan across the website
- Manage the listing, removal, organisation and presentation of products, promotions and content across the homepage, product display pages and product listing pages
- Ensure website content, pricing, availability and promotional messaging are accurate, consistent and delivered on time
- Maintain high standards of digital merchandising across kegs, machines, bundles and merchandise
- Champion a consumer-first approach throughout the online journey
- Identify and resolve website issues quickly, working with relevant technical and operational teams

Website Optimization and Digital Development
- Drive continuous improvement of the website and wider e-commerce experience
- Use customer, trading and behavioral data to identify opportunities to improve conversion, engagement and commercial performance
- Develop clear recommendations for the quarterly technology and website roadmap
- Lead optimization initiatives from initial idea and business case through to implementation and performance review
- Define, track and report key website metrics, performance trends and test results
- Present website performance, insights and priorities to senior stakeholders each month
- Collaborate with e-commerce teams across Europe to share best practice, learnings and scalable solutions
Commercial Planning:
- Play a leading role within the Commercial Team, contributing creative and ambitious ideas to the promotional planning process
- Advise on how commercial plans, campaigns and product launches should be executed online
- Provide data-led recommendations on product ranging, promotional mechanics, bundles and website placement
- Partner with CRM, Social, Brand and Content teams to strengthen email marketing and social content strategies
- Ensure that activity across the website, email and social channels creates a consistent and effective consumer journey

Skills / Experience:
- Previous experience in e-commerce trading, digital merchandising and website management
- High levels of competency in Magento
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A general manager mindset, with a willingness to take ownership beyond the immediate responsibilities of the role
- Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to executional excellence
- A proactive approach to identifying problems and delivering solutions
