An established UK retail business is seeking a Digital Trading Manager to lead the commercial performance of its ecommerce channel and support an ambitious programme of digital growth. The role is 2 days per week in Hertfordshire.

Role Overview

The role will own the online trading strategy, with responsibility for revenue, conversion, profitability, and customer engagement. You will lead the trading calendar, onsite merchandising, search, navigation, and product presentation across key campaigns and seasonal events. Using data, customer insight, and performance analysis, you will identify opportunities, optimize the customer journey, and drive continuous improvement through testing and personalization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the trading calendar, onsite merchandising, search, navigation, and product presentation across key campaigns and seasonal events.
  • Use data, customer insight, and performance analysis to identify opportunities, optimize the customer journey, and drive continuous improvement through testing and personalization.
  • Work closely with marketing, merchandising, technology, finance, analytics, and customer experience teams to deliver joined-up commercial outcomes.
  • Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders and influence decisions around future trading priorities and investment.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing digital trading team while fostering a culture of commercial ownership and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in ecommerce, digital trading, or online retail.
  • Strong record of delivering digital revenue growth and improving commercial performance.
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills.
  • Experience with digital analytics and optimization tools.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and lead teams.
