About the Role
This is a senior, London-based ecommerce studio that designs and builds online stores for premium direct-to-consumer brands across fashion, wellness, lifestyle, and food and drink. Strategy, design, and engineering sit under one roof, and they specialize in headless and composable commerce, including enterprise Shopify.
What stands out is how long clients stay. Many relationships run for years, because the studio works as an extension of the client's team rather than a supplier that builds a site and moves on. They're now part of a much larger global digital group, which brings scale and backing, but the studio still works the way it always has: small, senior teams close to the client.
They're hiring an Ecommerce Strategy Lead to own client partnerships end to end, from the first discovery session through to growing the account.
Why this one is worth a look
Client partner roles in agencies often mean sitting between the client and a delivery team you never really get to shape. This is not that. You'd lead a small, autonomous shaping pod with a Director of Technology, a Solutions Architect, and a Design Lead. Decisions get made in the pod, with the client, rather than being passed between departments.
You'd be strategist in discovery, partner in shaping, and champion in delivery. You see the work go live and you see what it does for the client's customers.
What you'll own
- The client relationship. Building trusted relationships from the C-suite to day-to-day operators. Leading the big moments, like discovery sessions and strategy summits, and acting as the client's eyes and ears inside the studio.
- Account growth. Spotting where the studio can add more value, shaping proposals, and owning the commercial health of your accounts: retention, satisfaction, and growth.
- Strategy. Setting the product vision for each client and turning their goals into a clear direction. Working at different altitudes, from long-term vision to the day-to-day decisions that get you there.
- Leading the pod. Extracting business requirements, prioritizing features, setting milestones, and weighing risk with your pod. Owning the client's solution backlog, prioritized by value, and holding the bar on quality.
- Project operations. Scheduling, resourcing, and budgets, plus SOWs and change management, so scope, budget, and expectations stay aligned as projects evolve.
- Data and insight. Using tools like Shopify analytics, Plausible, and GA4 to guide decisions, setting the key ecommerce metrics, and explaining the "so what" behind every solution.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'd typically have two or three projects in production at once, alongside accounts on retainer.
Who this suits
- Someone with 5+ years in a similar role and a strong ecommerce background, including agency experience in client partnership, account management, or strategy. You'll have led ecommerce projects, driven commerce growth, and managed six-figure+ accounts with several workstreams running in parallel.
- The route in can vary. Some of the best people for this will be strategists who enjoy owning the client and the product thinking. Others will be strategic product managers who already work directly with clients. Either works, as long as relationships are your strongest suit.
- You'll know the major ecommerce platforms, Shopify in particular, and be comfortable with the language of UX, CRO, APIs, SEO, and integrations. You'll be technical enough to talk to engineers easily and translate it into plain English for clients, and data literate enough to back up the "why". They'd also like someone proactive about using AI to improve how the team and its clients work.
- A note on seniority. This is a senior role, but there's no line management; you lead through the pod and the client relationship. The salary range reflects that they'll look at people at slightly different stages, including senior strategists ready to step up.
