Ecommerce Trading Manager 12M FTC

Up to £50K

North London (Hybrid)

We are partnering with a well-established retail business to recruit an experienced Ecommerce Trading Manager to drive online sales growth across web, app, and in-store digital channels.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused digital trading specialist to take ownership of online category performance, improve customer journeys, and deliver measurable growth across key trading areas. Working closely with commercial, buying, planning, and digital teams, you will identify opportunities to improve digital performance, optimise the onsite customer experience, and support wider commercial objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the digital trading plan across assigned categories, ensuring activity is aligned with promotions, range reviews, product launches, and wider commercial priorities.
  • Optimise the online customer experience using site search, visual merchandising, product bundling, cross-selling, social proofing, and other trading tools to improve performance.
  • Use analytics and customer insight to review customer journeys, identify friction points, and recommend practical improvements.
  • Build strong relationships with buying, planning, and commercial stakeholders, sharing performance insight to support digital growth strategies.
  • Track and report on key eCommerce KPIs including inbound traffic, conversion rate, average transaction value, and path to purchase, translating data into clear recommendations.
  • Manage and develop one direct report, supporting their objectives, development, and contribution to the wider digital trading team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
