About the Role
An exciting opportunity for a commercially driven Ecommerce Manager with strong experience across ecommerce trading, inventory, visual merchandising, buying and digital marketing.
The Ecommerce Manager is a core part of the Ingenuity client services team, with end-to-end responsibility for ecommerce trading, commercial performance and execution across a client account.
This is a high-ownership role that sits at the intersection of ecommerce trading, buying, merchandising, inventory and marketing. You’ll use data and commercial insight to make decisions that maximise sales and margin, ensuring the right products are presented to customers at the right time, supported by the right marketing activity and aligned to stock availability.
You’ll own the trading calendar, translate buying and product strategy into compelling on-site visual merchandising, monitor inventory and sell-through, coordinate marketing activity across multiple channels, and identify opportunities to maximise margin while reducing aged stock and returns.
You’ll work closely with buying, category, merchandising, operations, creative and channel specialists, acting as the key point of coordination to ensure commercial priorities are reflected consistently across the customer journey.
Key Responsibilities
Trading, Inventory & Site Performance
- Own ecommerce trading performance across conversion, AOV, COS, margin, sell-through, stock cover, availability and new vs. returning customer performance.
- Build and manage the trading calendar, incorporating product launches, seasonal events, promotional activity, key commercial moments and inventory priorities.
- Analyse stock depth, stock cover, sell-through and product performance to identify trading opportunities and risks, proactively adjusting site and marketing activity accordingly.
- Partner with buying and category teams to understand product ranges, seasonal shifts, newness, product lifecycle and inventory positions, ensuring ecommerce activity reflects commercial priorities.
- Use inventory and sales data to identify opportunities to maximise full-price sales, support overstocked categories and minimise aged or slow-moving stock.
- Monitor competitor pricing, product ranges and promotional activity to ensure clients remain commercially competitive.
- Identify and execute site optimisation opportunities across product pages, category navigation, landing pages, UX and onsite search.
- Ensure the site is consistently updated with accurate product information, offers, banners, new product listings and promotional content.
- Translate product and buying showcases into compelling on-site visual merchandising, ensuring key product stories, USPs, newness and seasonal priorities are clearly communicated.
- Use customer, product and trading data to continuously improve the ecommerce experience and commercial performance.
Product & Lifecycle Returns
- Analyse product performance, customer behaviour and returns data to identify trends, issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Work with category, buying, customer service and operational teams to understand the drivers of returns and identify opportunities to reduce return rates.
- Use returns insight to influence product content, imagery, sizing information, product descriptions and customer communications.
- Identify underperforming products and recommend actions across content, merchandising, promotion and marketing to improve sell-through.
- Track product performance throughout the lifecycle, from launch and newness through to promotional activity and end-of-life.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
