Job Description
Purpose of the role
To identify and capitalise on business opportunities, expansion of the customer base, relationship management, and driving of revenue growth.
Accountabilities
- Execution of market research and analysis to support the identification of potential opportunities, market trends, and customer needs, to develop strategies for business growth.
- Identification of leads through various channels such as networking, referrals, cold calling, and attending industry events.
- Management of existing client relationships to understand their needs and identify opportunities for cross-selling or upselling banking products and services.
- Development and execution of strategies to acquire new business and expand the customer base, including preparation of proposals, presentations, and negotiation of contracts.
- Collaboration with product managers, credit analysts, operations, and other internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of banking products and services to clients.
- Forecasting of KPI’s and tracking progress against goals, including regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and Solutions performance to management.
- Contribution to the development of business development strategies and initiatives to drive revenue growth and achieve business objectives.

- Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
- Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
- Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc.) to solve problems creatively and effectively.
- Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
- Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Join us as an Ecosystem Manager at Barclays
Where you will be responsible for managing and growing the local innovation ecosystem, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to help high-growth businesses start, scale and succeed. Based within Eagle Lab, you will champion the Eagle Lab proposition through one-to-one business support, skills development and large-scale events, while working closely with partners including the University of Lincoln to create valuable opportunities for entrepreneurs and businesses. Using your knowledge of the regional business landscape and Agri-Tech sector, you will strengthen networks, drive business acquisition ambitions within Business Banking, and deliver meaningful outcomes for clients, partners and Barclays.

To be successful as an Ecosystem Manager, you must have the following essential skills
- Proven experience in business development, with experience of building and growing successful client relationships.
- Considerable networking skills, with the ability to create and leverage meaningful connections across diverse business communities.
- Excellent stakeholder management capabilities, confidently engaging and influencing both internal and external partners.
- Proven experience planning, managing, and hosting events that drive engagement, strengthen relationships, and support business growth.
- Experience managing budgets and resources effectively, ensuring value-driven decision making and cost control.
Some other highly valued skills may include
- Knowledge of the Agri-Tech sector and its opportunities, challenges and market trends.
- Sound knowledge of Business Banking products, services, and market dynamics, with an understanding of client needs and commercial opportunities.
- Knowledge of the local innovation ecosystem, with the ability to build and maintain valuable stakeholder networks.
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role will be based in Lincoln, and the successful candidate will be client facing on site, 5 days per week.
