Early Career Teacher (ECT)

Location: Middleton

Contract: Temp to Perm

Full time/Part time: Full Time

Pay: £140-£180 per day

Start date: September 2026

Expected End date: Ongoing / Temp to Perm

A welcoming and supportive school in Middleton is seeking an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join their team from September 2026. The school is committed to creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment where pupils are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ECT to begin their teaching career within a supportive school environment, working alongside experienced teachers and a dedicated leadership team. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop their teaching practice, build confidence in the classroom and make a positive impact on pupil progress.

The role would suit an enthusiastic and motivated ECT who is keen to develop professionally and gain valuable experience within a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
  • Differentiating learning to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
  • Assessing and monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching accordingly
  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, attainment and personal development
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Working collaboratively with experienced teachers, teaching assistants and the wider school team
  • Supporting pupils with SEND and adapting teaching strategies where required
  • Contributing to planning, assessment and school-wide activities
  • Developing effective classroom management and behaviour strategies
  • Maintaining accurate records of pupil progress and attainment
  • Following school safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures

The Successful Applicant Will

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be successfully completing their teacher training and eligible for QTS
  • Be an Early Career Teacher looking to begin their teaching career
  • Have a genuine passion for education and supporting children's learning
  • Be enthusiastic, motivated and keen to develop professionally
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be committed to creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment
  • Be willing to learn from experienced colleagues and respond positively to feedback
  • Have good classroom management skills and a calm, consistent approach
  • Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Have the right to work in the UK
