Geography Tutors® connects learners with specialist geography tutors across the UK, including qualified teachers, Heads of Geography, and active exam board examiners. The company provides one-to-one tutoring for GCSE, A Level (including Edexcel), and IB, delivered both online and in person, with each tutor matched to the learner’s specific exam board. Geography Tutors® focuses on improving grades, exam technique, and confidence in geography, offering tailored support for students with diverse learning needs, including ADHD, Autism, and Dyslexia. All tutors are Enhanced DBS checked, trained in safeguarding, and equipped with up-to-date exam board knowledge. The service is known for strong outcomes, including grade improvements, top marks, and successful university offers.

Role Description

This is a remote Edexcel A Level Geography Tutor role focused on delivering high-quality one-to-one online tutoring to A Level students following the Edexcel specification. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The tutor will assess student progress, provide detailed feedback on written work and practice exam questions, and adapt teaching approaches to support different learning styles and needs, including neurodiverse learners. The role also involves:

  • Maintaining professional safeguarding standards
  • Staying current with Edexcel A Level Geography content and assessment requirements
  • Communicating clearly with students and, where relevant, parents or guardians

Qualifications

  • Strong subject knowledge in Edexcel A Level Geography, including physical and human geography, case studies, and key concepts.
  • Experience teaching and examining A Level Geography, preferably within the UK system and aligned with Edexcel exam board requirements.
  • Ability to support exam technique, essay structure, geographical skills (e.g., data analysis, cartographic skills), and effective revision strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt to different learning styles and needs.
  • Confidence using online teaching tools and digital resources for remote tutoring sessions.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and commitment to safeguarding and professional conduct.
  • Relevant degree in Geography or a closely related discipline; a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or QTS) is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting students with additional learning needs (such as ADHD, Autism, or Dyslexia) is an advantage.
