Job Description
Wellington College is seeking a highly organised Administrative Assistant to support the Deputy Head Compassion, Belonging and Wellbeing. This is a fixed-term maternity cover position, commencing in January 2027 for one year. The role is offered for 21 hours per week, working 39 weeks per year.
Working closely with the Deputy Head Compassion, Belonging and Wellbeing, the postholder will provide reliable, responsive coordination that helps the department’s varied work progress effectively. They will bring order and care to diaries, meetings, records and documentation, ensuring colleagues have the information and practical arrangements they need. The role will also support departmental events, professional development, conferences, pupil engagement and trip administration, contributing to welcoming and well-managed experiences for those involved.

Accurate information management will be an important aspect of the post. The successful candidate will help maintain Wellbeing and EDI data, prepare materials for reports and presentations, and create clear communications that connect staff, pupils, parents and external partners with the department’s work. They will be comfortable using digital systems and producing accessible documents, spreadsheets and visual materials, while managing changing priorities and competing deadlines with a calm, methodical approach.

As part of a small collaborative team, the postholder will build positive relationships across the College community and handle sensitive information with sound judgement, confidentiality and care.
