We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused EDI Analyst to join our Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) team. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone looking to develop their technical, analytical, and stakeholder management skills within a fast-paced retail environment.

The EDI Analyst will support suppliers and internal teams by investigating EDI-related queries, monitoring transaction flows, resolving invoice and purchase order issues, assisting with supplier onboarding, and maintaining data accuracy across EDI platforms. The role involves regular interaction with suppliers, service providers, finance teams, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless electronic trading processes.

Please be advised that this position requires attendance at Asda House in Leeds for a minimum of three days per week. We’re really looking forward to having you around!

What You'll Love

Query Management & Support

  • Manage EDI-related queries received through ServiceNow, email, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Investigate and resolve issues relating to:
    • Missing invoices
    • Rejected invoices
    • Missing purchase orders (POs)
    • ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice) issues
    • Remittance requests
    • Supplier connectivity problems
    • VIM exception queries
  • Provide timely updates to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Escalate complex issues where appropriate.

EDI Operations

  • Monitor EDI traffic and identify transaction failures.
  • Investigate document transmission issues across EDI platforms.
  • Support the maintenance and validation of EDI mappings and trading partner setups.
  • Assist with fuel CSV uploads and validation of successful processing.
  • Support testing activities for EDI transactions, including purchase orders, invoices, and ASNs.

Supplier Support

  • Act as a first point of contact for suppliers regarding EDI-related issues.
  • Assist suppliers in establishing and maintaining EDI connections.
  • Support onboarding activities for new suppliers.
  • Participate in supplier calls to troubleshoot issues and provide guidance on EDI processes.

Investigation & Analysis

  • Perform root cause analysis on failed transactions and invoice discrepancies.
  • Review SAP and EDI platform data to determine document status.
  • Investigate VIM exceptions and work with relevant teams to resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of investigations, findings, and resolutions.

Reporting & Administration

  • Produce routine operational reports and performance statistics.
  • Maintain query logs and ensure ticket updates are completed accurately.
  • Support the continuous improvement of team processes and documentation.
  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing and process reviews.

What You'll Need

Essential

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy environment.
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong customer service mindset.
  • Ability to analyse data and identify trends or issues.
  • Willingness to learn EDI concepts, retail processes, and supporting systems.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a support, administration, finance, supply chain, or customer service role.
  • Exposure to EDI, ERP, finance, or supply chain systems.
  • Knowledge of SAP, ServiceNow, or EDI platforms such as TrueCommerce.
  • Understanding of purchase orders, invoices, and supplier processes.
